Budae Jjigae (Army Stew) 부대찌개

Budae Jjigae (부대찌개; ): Budae Jjigae or army stew, originates after the Korean War when food was scarce and many Koreans were starving. It is a dish loaded with ham, small sausages, kimchi, vegetables, and a spicy broth.

MAIN INGREDIENTS (for 2 px):
Beef stock (1 liter)
6 Beef slices
6 Vegetarian crab stick
2 sausages (diagonally sliced)
1 enoki mushroom
2 round tofu
2 bean curd
Brown beech mushroom
Pak choy
2 eggs
2 cheese slices
2 instant ramen noodles
1/2 cup kimchi

SPICY SAUCE INGREDIENTS:
1/2 minced yellow onion
3 garlic cloves (minced)
2 TBS gochujang
2 TBS cooking wine
2 TBS soy sauce
1 TBS sugar

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. First of all, mix the spicy sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.

2. Assemble the main ingredients in a big pot (except for the noodle, eggs and cheese slice). Add the spicy sauce mixture in the middle.

3. Next, add in the beef stock, cover the pot with a lid and let it boil for around 8 - 10 minutes. Then, add the instant noodle in and let it cook for another 3 minutes.

4. Finally, put in eggs and cheese, let it cook for another 1 - 2 minutes. DONE! Super simple dish!

Serve with steamed rice and enjoy your meal!
